Incredible offer to buy "Beautiful Mess" directly from Andy

I am subscribed to Andy & Corinne's MySpace site and received a couple of emails over the weekend that I didn't get around to reading until this morning (Monday).

Cutting to the chase:

That in itself would be especially newsworthy on an ordinary day but today's not an ordinary day. The second email I received had even better news if you can believe it...

2) The second email linked to a later blog entry by Andy where, because of all the high import prices for "Beautiful Mess," he and Corinne wanted to offer a "limited number of autographed copies of the album, identical to the Japanese release, with the same artwork, apart from the fact that they come in an eco-friendly card wallet as opposed to the jewel case of the Japanese version, and so do not contain the inside liner notes." They're offering these at your local currency equivalent of £10, which includes postage and packaging (I just ordered my copy and it turned out to be $20.19 U.S.).

Now, you do give up the liner notes on this version, and there's no indication of how many copies "limited number of autographed copies" represents, but for $20.19 U.S., what a deal! PLUS, as Andy also notes in the blog, here's your opportunity to make sure "your hard-earned cash was going more directly towards benefitting the band itself rather than some international transportation company." BTW, having gone back and watched the "Something Every Day" video again that Andy posted at their blog, it dawned on me that the pictures used in the video must have been from the photo session they had to come up with the "Beautiful Mess" album cover art.

If you closely watch and/or pause at the 1:13, 2:25, and especially the 2:31-2:33 marks of the video, you can see the shot that gets cropped down to the final resultant album cover photo. Corinne is striking another of her trademarked "modelesque" Twister-like poses for that shot.

Personally, I think the art director, and anyone else involved in the final layout decision, did a great job on the artsy-looking final crop (although a little more of a hint of one of Corinne's beautiful smiles would have been nice, too... ).

(p.s.- maybe some of the other photos from the shoot will find their way onto the liner notes in the "official" album release version)

I've just ordered the CD. I prefer that Andy and Corinne make money on the CD rather than middlemen. Plus, getting an autographed CD is irresistable...

I regret that the new CD has no liner notes, but being eco-friendly is always good, and I'm just going to put the album on my iPod anyway. Besides, not having liner notes did not detract from my enjoyment of "Live In Tokyo".

I'm gratified that Andy and Corinne have been so considerate to their non-Japanese fans...

Wow! What a fantastic offer!

Thank you so much Andy for offering such a deal. I wrote a few weeks ago about how expensive CD buying was from Japan.

To buy the CD directly from the band is a dream - for both of us. Let me explain.... you guys poured months of hard work in to creating what I know is another masterpiece so you really deserve my money. I then receive my music directly from you with your pawprints and autographs included.

This really is a win-win situation.

I have just ordered my copy directly from Andy and know I will not be able to sleep tonight (I know it will not arrive tomorrow but who cares....)

Thanks, mister mister, for letting us know about this great offer! I just placed my order.

Since the eco-friendly version does not contain the inside liner notes, it would be great if Andy--or someone else who has the jewelbox version--would be kind enough to post the notes electronically here or on the group's MySpace page. I like to read the dedications, who the background artists were, where the songs were recorded, etc.

Love & Peace to Corinne and Andy for the autographed copy of Beautiful Mess. I just received my copy in the mail today. The anticipation was nerve wrecking but well worth the wait. What a lovely way to end the evening. Please bring your tour to the States. I'd love to see you again. Let it be known that Corinne and Andy ROCK!
